Perth and Kinross has a vibrant, and ever-growing, range of organisations which seek to improve outcomes for children, young people and families.
PKAVS have been working closely with partners around Children, Young People and Families (CYPF) since 2015. As a Third Sector Interface, our role is to connect, develop and enable third sector groups and organisations with an interest in improving CYPF outcomes in Perth & Kinross to be involved in local decision making. We are actively engaged in the National Third Sector GIRFEC (Getting it Right for Every Child) project, a partnership between Children in Scotland and the Coalition of Care and Support Providers in Scotland (CPPS) to support local and regional third sector organisations navigate the challenges and opportunities of children’s services in order to deliver improved outcomes for children, young people and their families.
The main conduit between the Children, Young People and Families Partners and the third sector is a Children, Young People and Families Third Sector Strategic Forum.
The Purpose of the Strategic Forum is:
Membership
The Forum is open to any Third Sector organisation contributing to, or with an interest in, children, young people and families’ outcomes which is working in Perth & Kinross.
Facilitation
Perth and Kinross Association of Voluntary Service (PKAVS), as Third Sector Interface, provides operational and facilitation services for the Forum. The forum is currently chaired by a TSI representative.
PKAVS is a registered Scottish Charity (SC 005561)
& a company Limited by Guarantee, Registered in Scotland (86065)
