Salary:                £14,426 - £15,512 per annum (Starting salary: £14,426 per annum)

(Full-time equivalent would be £18,033 - £19,391 per annum)

Contract Type:    Permanent

Job Type:           28 hours per week. 9am-4pm Monday – Thursday. This may include unsociable hours including working evenings and weekends. Based at Walled Garden in Perth and Wisecraft in Blairgowrie.

Closing date:      Sunday 10th June 2018.

Interview Date:   26th and 27th June 2018.

PKAVS advances the lives of thousands of disadvantaged local people every year, as well as supporting, promoting and developing the wider Third Sector in Perth & Kinross. PKAVS Mental Health & Wellbeing Hub provides community-based and outcomes-focussed support for adults recovering from mental ill health. With services in Perth City and the rural town of Blairgowrie, our Hub offers a diverse range of activities spanning areas such horticulture, joinery, arts & crafts, catering and physical health. Activities support clients on their recovery journey, producing positive outcomes in relation to health & wellbeing, knowledge and life opportunities, independence and self-confidence.



Through funding from The Scottish Government – Aspiring Communities Fund, PKAVS requires an Activity Engagement Worker (Creative Wellbeing) to join the Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub team. We are looking for a highly motivated person to work as part of our Hub. The role of Activity Engagement Worker (Creative Wellbeing) is to promote client led recovery while focusing on creative workshops based on four areas of creative wellbeing- arts and crafts, literature, performance/drama and music.

The post holder will be based across both our service locations – Blairgowrie and Perth – on a rota basis. They will work collaboratively with their counterpart to deliver a programme of creative wellbeing workshops for the Walled Garden and Wisecraft. The post holder will work with and support volunteers to lead and develop creative activities in an inclusive manner. While working with a whole service approach the post holder will provide clients with new opportunities to gain knowledge and skills in creative arts. Clients may also be encouraged to work in community settings and foster good relationships with local communities. As well as using art as a therapeutic medium, there will be an expectation for the creative wellbeing department to showcase their art work which may also be suitable for sale.

High on our business plan agenda is the focus on youth engagement. The post holder will actively work to engage younger clients into the creative wellbeing activity area and work together with their counterpart to deliver and develop youth groups with a creative/expressive focus.


Key Objectives-

  • Focusing on the promotion of recovery and wellbeing.
  • Support client development through IROC / Talking Mats and personal support plans.
  • Deliver, develop and facilitate creative activities including training, workshops and group sessions.
  • Have a focus on engaging young people into the creative art activity area to improve their mental wellbeing, confidence, skills development and widen opportunities available to them.
  • Provide a wide range of development opportunities for clients including educational/creative outings.
  • Key link worker providing support and supervision for nominated volunteer(s) and work placements. 


Excellent organisational and written skills are an essential element of this role. You must be a people-focused person, self-motivated and a good communicator, with a proven track record of establishing strong professional working relationships.
