Volunteer Manager's Network

The Volunteer Managers’ Network is facilitated by our Volunteer Development Officer. The network meetings give people working with volunteers in Perth and Kinross an opportunity to share ideas, network and provide mutual support.  Often members come along with problems or queries for the group to discuss and can find it stimulating and useful in problem-solving.

You don’t have to be a ‘Volunteer Manager’ to attend, but if your role includes working with and supporting volunteers within your organisation, whether paid or voluntary, you may find the network meetings useful.  Members find they are often the sole worker in their organisation with responsibility for volunteers and the network helps them to meet people with similar remits.  Most attendees are from voluntary or community organisations, with a minority from the statutory sector.

At the Volunteering Hub part of our aims are to ensure that volunteers are welcomed and valued by organisations and that volunteer involving organisations are offered guidance, training and support to enable them to improve the experience of their volunteers.

Aims of the Volunteer Managers’ Network:

  • To promote awareness and understanding of volunteering related issues
  • To improve networking and co-operation between local voluntary organisations and groups
  • To share good practise
  • To provide a support network for volunteer managers
