But thanks to Perth & Kinross Council’s brilliant initiative – free bus travel for everyone on the first Saturday of each month – a perfect opportunity opens up to bring people together and make some exciting events happen, without costs holding us back!
- Family Fun Days – Organise a Fun Day around free travel for all the family and open doors to new friends from all over Perth & Kinross.
- Wellbeing Walks – Organise your next group walk somewhere new. The travel offer applies to the whole of Perth & Kinross. Be adventurous for free!
- Reward your volunteers – Arrange a day out somewhere different for your volunteers to bond and celebrate the great work they do for you.
- Whole Family days – a chance for everyone in the family to travel together and enjoy something crafty or sporty, or simply an opportunity for families to spend quality time together without financial barriers
- Reconnect with loved ones – use the free travel day to visit friends or family you don’t see often. It’s the perfect excuse to catch up, strengthen relationships, and enjoy a change of scene – all without the cost of travel.

Founded in 2016, Mental Health Mates is a UK-wide peer-support network of volunteer-led walking groups encouraging people connect and improve their mental health in a safe, non‑judgemental environment. With over 100 walks across the country, each walk offers a simple yet powerful combination of movement, conversation, and community support.
