A Positive Step for Fairer Funding in Scotland
We’re delighted to share that the Scottish Government has announced a further £30 million in funding for the Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund for Adults to be delivered across Scotland, with a portion coming to Perth & Kinross.
Maree Todd, a spokesperson for the Scottish Government confirmed the additional funding on 14th March during a visit to Empower Women Scotland. She said:
“Since the fund was established, we have invested £66 million, reaching a variety of groups supporting those at increased risk of poor mental health and wellbeing – including people facing socio-economic disadvantage, older people and ethnic minority communities. I look forward to seeing the positive impact that this further £30 million investment will make to the wellbeing of people and communities across Scotland.”
This development comes as part of the Fairer Funding pilot for 2025-2027 alongside 44 other programmes focused on essential services and eradicating child poverty. As a TSI, we welcome this move and hope the pilot will pave the way for more expansive fair funding programmes in the future.
This highly requested multi-year funding model will provide increased stability to third sector organisations across Perth and Kinross, enabling them to continue delivering vital mental health and wellbeing programmes for our communities.
