In March, Scottish Government pledged another round of funding for mental health projects supporting adults, children, and young people in communities across Scotland.
Both The Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund for Adults and the Children and Young People’s Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Supports have been awarded £15 million each to be distributed across the nation as part of the 2024-2025 Scottish budget.
As your local TSI, we’ll be distributing the Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund for Adults in Perth & Kinross, with applications opening this autumn. Watch this space for instructions on how to apply, and make sure to follow our social media channels and subscribe to our newsletter for the latest updates.
SCVO and OSCR provide some helpful resources on good governance that can guide your organisation towards success ahead of applying for funding.
Previously, these funds have made a massive difference in Perth & Kinross, supporting a range of holistic programmes, from the Change Mental Health Hearing Voices project to Adventure Circus’s mental health-informed activities. We look forward to seeing what the next round of funding can achieve.
Although this pledge was announced under the Government of Humza Yousaf, the current First Minister, John Swinney, stated that ‘the Government remains committed’ to community-based mental health projects.
In an evolving political landscape, it’s important for the third sector to consider how changes of government will affect our work and the resources available to us.
In light of the upcoming UK General Election, OSCR shared some guidelines for charities on how to campaign on political issues and advocate for your work within the bounds of Scottish charity regulations.
