This session of the TSI Knowledge Network brought together Social Flock and VisionPK to share insights into the work they do to support individuals and communities across Perth & Kinross. The session highlighted how organisations across the third sector are responding to local needs through practical support, inclusion, and community-led initiatives.

Both organisations showcased approaches centred around accessibility, dignity, wellbeing, and reducing barriers for those accessing support. From sustainable community clothing initiatives to specialist sensory support services, the session reflected the diversity of the third sector and the positive impact organisations can have through person-centred and community-focused work.

About:

Social Flock is a community, clothing, and climate initiative working to ensure everyone in Perth & Kinross can access clothing while reducing reliance on fast fashion. Through a range of projects and community partnerships, the organisation provides practical clothing support for individuals and families while promoting sustainability and environmental action through the reuse of donated clothing.

During the session, Social Flock shared insights into their growing range of community clothing initiatives and the increasing demand for support across Perth & Kinross. Their work combines practical support with environmental awareness, helping individuals and families access clothing in a way that is accessible, dignified, and sustainable. The session highlighted how donated and preloved clothing can support both people and the environment while strengthening community connections and reducing barriers to support.

VisionPK

About:

VisionPK provides specialist services and support for adults living with sight loss and/or hearing loss across Perth & Kinross. Through their sensory hub and community-based services, they offer practical guidance, rehabilitation support, wellbeing activities, and opportunities for social connection to help individuals live independently and confidently.

Highlight – Sensory Support & Community Wellbeing

VisionPK provided an overview of their specialist support services and the importance of accessible, person-centred support for individuals experiencing sight or hearing loss. Their work focuses not only on practical assistance and rehabilitation, but also on reducing isolation and supporting emotional wellbeing through peer support, activities, and community engagement. The session highlighted the value of creating inclusive spaces where people can access support, build confidence, and remain connected within their community.
